Description
Vision: To reach out to our community while focusing on the Early Learning Guidelines for 3 to 5 year olds which have been developed by the South Dakota Department of Education as benchmarks for what we can do to help children learn.
Mission: To provide an environment of Christian love where preschool age children are taught basic skills and knowledge in preparation for Kindergarten while having an opportunity to grow socially and emotionally. The curriculum and programming is designed to teach to each child's spirit in order to build a foundation for a strong future and then trusting God to strengthen their intellect for high academic results.
Program
The SD Department of Education has recently developed guidelines designed to be used in all settings that include children 3 to 5 years of age. The South Dakota Early Learning Guidelines are benchmarks for what we can do to help our children learn and are aligned with the SD Content Standards for Kindergarten. These guidelines would were the primary resource for identifying specific curriculum for our preschool program.
Our preschool programs will be taught by an Early Childhood teacher and assistant teacher(s) with early childhood experience. Each member of our staff will be thoroughly screened before hiring in order to provide a safe environment for your child.
We will generally follow the Lennox School District Calendar but will not start until after Labor Day.
Student to Teacher ratio 8:1 is optimal and class sizes will normally not exceed 10:1.
